Fireworks light up the sky But it wouldn't be as delightful If it were every day Fireworks scatter, burst, sizzle, dazzle But it wouldn't be as wonderful If it rained down on your brothers and sisters The lightshow brings out a smile A sense of wonderment in every kids face A momentary escape from the ordinary Spectacular's the word on everyone's mouth My thoughts switch back to gun fire Only seen in CNN via a 21" TV And I can only imagine the pain and anguish Of a frightened child The ordinary is all he longs for As missiles crash and burn Nothing's on anyone's mouth The roaring lightshow that is fireworks Its the last thing on a child's mind When he can't hear a thing Deafened by the thunderous When he can't see a thing Blinded by the wrathful When he can't feel a thing Killed by those who seek peace You can find more articles in the archive under Woei Hern Woei would love to hear from you so email him.
