Since the 1970's and 80's, tree farms of non-native spruce and pine have upset the bio-diversity of Scotland's unique blanket bog. This area in the Highlands is a European proposal to be listed as a World Heritage Site. The site at http://www.lifepeatlandsproject.com/ describes all types of peat and the project to preserve the rare Scottish habitat, the blanket bog.
