
For centuries of Scottish history, soccer has been THE sport of
Scotland. Mary, Queen of Scots was an avid spectator but a century
earlier, James II in 1457 forbid any frolic at the fute-ball. He
favoured archery for fighting the foes down south. The anagrams
include most of the Scottish Premier League and a few teams of the
Scottish Football Association. From early August to mid-May, fitba
