Siud an lion a tha breòite
Anns nach eil dòchas ri fhaotainn,
Ged as maiseach a bhòidhchead
Mar an t-òr air an raonaidh;
Se sin dòchas a'chealgair,
Se sin anaman gun saoradh -
Bheir an oiteag air falbhe e,
A chuid dhealbhannan faoine,
A-muigh 's a-mach
|
There's the net that's defective
And offers no hope,
Though great is its glory
Like gold on the slope;
It's the hope of the scoundrel,
Its souls without freedom -
The breeze will extinguish it,
All its vain images,
And blow it away
