Sanda Lighthouse is located on the Mull of Kintrye south of Campeltown near the village of Southend. Sitting on a small island a short distance off shore it is a unique station because of how it is built on the top of ship rock. It was engineered by Alan Stevenson. Its tower is 15 metres high and have a nominal range of 19 miles on white and 16 miles on red.

Our beautiful picture is from the Northern Lighthouse Board's Quarterly Journal.

An exciting book about 31 of the best scottish lighthouses explained in insightful text and magnificent colour photographs is available here.
