Lighthouse Beacons From Scotland

Noss Head Lighthouse

Noss Head is located three miles outside the town of Wick in Caithness. It was built in 1849. Alan Stevenson was the engineers for the project. It sits on the eastern most projection on the Northeastern coast of Scotland. It is completely automated. The current owner has abandoned it so the keeper's accommodations are badly in need of repair.

An exciting book about 31 of the best scottish lighthouses explained in insightful text and magnificent colour photographs is available here.
