Rattray Head lighthouse lies at the northern end of Rattray Bay, 7 miles northeast of Peterhead on the East coast of Scotland. The lighthouse was designed by David Alan Stevenson. The fortress-style base was constructed to accommodate engines and compressors for a powerful fog siren that was discontinued in 2001. The white, conical tower on conical foundation is 112 feet tall. The night characteristic is 3 white flashes every 30 seconds. The light is operational and was built in 1895 and automated in 1982. The keeper's accommodations are now open for Bed & Breakfast.
