Cromarty Lighthouse is located on the Moray Firth in the northeast coast of Scotland. The keeper's house and outbuildings at this lighthouse are now used by Aberdeen University students studying the bottlenose dolphins of the Moray Firth. The tower is 43 feet tall. The night characteristic is white/red occulting every 10 seconds, white visible for 15 miles and red 11 nautical miles. The light is operational and was built in 1846 and automated in 1985.
