The new Taypord lighthouse was built by the city of Dundee and is not under the control of the Northern Lighthouse Board. Its white tower is 58.8 feet tall and its night character is white, red and green every three seconds. It has a range of 23 nautical miles. It is surrounded by the village of Ferryport-on-Craig and its keeper's accommodations were up for sale recently.
