Fair Isle North Lighthouse

Fair Isle North Lighthouse was established in 1892 and the engineers were David and Charles Stevenson. The station is located on the Northern end of Fair Isle. The island is located in the North Sea north of the Orkney Islands and south of the Shetland Islands. The towers is 14 metres high and flashes (2) white every 30 seconds. It has a range of 22 miles. It is one of the last of the Northern Lighthouse Board's stations to be automated.
