Sumburgh Head Ligthhouse is located on the southern tip of the main Shetland Island. Another lighthouse built by Robert Stevenson. Sumburgh was built in 1821. Its character is 3 white every 30 seconds. It was automated in 1991 and at the time of writing was up for sale. Near the lighthouse is the second largest colony of puffins in Shetland with over 20,000 birds.
