Built originally in 1905 by David A. Stevenson. The original structure was replaced by fibreglass model in 1984. It has a range of 8 nautical miles. It night characteristic is white flash every 6 seconds. The day characteristic is a 26 foot cylindrical cast iron tower with lantern and gallery, painted white. Located at the southeastern corner of Orkney Mainland, about 3 miles southeast of St. Mary's. The site does not appear to be accessible by road.
