Lighthouse Beacons From Scotland

Arnish Point light is located Western entrance to Stornoway Harbour on the western coast of the island of Lewis of the west coast of Scotland. The light is near the town of Stornoway and so is often called the Stornoway light. The tower height is 42 feet with a focal plane of 49 feet. The night characteristic is flashing white/red every 10 seconds. The light is visible for 19 nautical miles in white and 15 in red. The day characteristic is a white conical brick tower with black lantern. The station was established in 1852 and is still operational.
