Located at the south end of the main island in Shetland is Sumburgh Head Lighthouse. It is a regal facility sitting on the top of a gigantic hill. This picture captures the lighthouse right after snow has fallen and as you can see as dawn appears more snow is on the way. This facility was purchased by the Shetland Amenity Trust and will be turned into a visitor center for all to enjoy in the near future.

An exciting book about 31 of the best scottish lighthouses explained in insightful text and magnificent colour photographs is available here.
