The Brough of Birsay Lighthouse is located on a tidal island off the west shore of the mainland in Orkney. It was established in 1925. Its night characteristic is 3 white flashes every 25 seconds and is visible for 18 nautical miles. It's day characteristic is a white castellated tower and building. The tower is 36 feet tall.
