Greentrax was launched in 1986 by former police inspector Ian D. Green who has devoted much of his life to promoting the music of Scotland. With some 125 releases and a reputation for quality, Greentrax is recognized as Scotland's leading independent traditional label.
Greentrax specializes in the best of Scottish Music, including folk, instrumental, Gaelic, piping, singer/songwriter and of course the prestigious Scottish Traditions Series from School of Scottish Studies archives. Scotland's finest artistes record with Greentrax and the label's compilation albums are out standing showcases of what is available from the label.
