Mary's Tears
by Lynne Remick

Her last days were confined
in a land so unkind
and so far from her
beloved Scotland

Whilst a queen said good bye
purple tears she did cry
as blood spilled on the
grounds of Fotheringay

Though these tears are now gone
purple flowers live on
Regal thistles
that speak her fair name.

A Highland Morning
by Katie Gustafsson

Oh what a glorious sight to behold,
Sunrise in the Highlands, a loch bathed in gold.
Mountains cloaked in the midst of night,
Undress to reveal their magnificent might.
Wildflowers awaken, birds start to sing,
A taste of heaven, these Highlands bring.
