Gaelic Sayings To Use Every Day

    I AM - I AM NOT

Saying 'I am', 'you are' etc. in Gaelic is very easy, because the word for 'am','are', 'is', never changes - it remains tha

English - Scots Gaelic - Pronunciation

I am - tha mi - haa mee
you are (singular, informal) - tha thu - haa oo
you are (plural, formal singular) - tha sibh - haa sheev
he is - tha e - haa eh
she is - tha i - haa ee
we are - tha sinn - haa sheeng
they are - tha iad -haa yat

There is no Galeic word for 'it'; things are either 'he' or 'she'. The best thing to do is not to worry about it, use either e or i and point.

Another way around it is to use 'this' or 'that:
this - tha seo - haa so
that - tha sin - haa shin
