Daffodils In Scotland

One of the best things about Spring in Scotland is the daffodils. Whether they are in woodland glens, the rockeries and borders of city gardens, or creating one of the vast carpets of gold which attract hordes of visitors at grounds such as Threave Castle in Dumfriesshire, the House of the Binns in West Lothian and Dawyck Botanic Garden in Peeblesshire, daffodils are one of Scotland's best-loved plants.

There is even a traditional festival in Scotland around the daffodils. Glen Saturday is the first or third Saturday in April depending on the weather. The day when the children of Kilmarnock in Ayrshire went to Crawfurdland Castle to pick daffodils.
