BRAVEST HEART
- Bravest Heart - For some time now, Moira had been meaning to write songs about William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, and Rob Roy MacGregor, and the filming of "Brave Heart" in Scotland recently, prompted her to write "Bravest Heart. Both Bruce and Wallace were big in stature and spirit.
- Corryvreckan - is the second largest whirlpool in the world - some call it a tide race it lies between the island of Jura and Scarba, off the west coast of Scotland.
- She Moved Through The Fair - One of the most beautifully haunting of Irish traditional songs. It tells of a young girls visitation by her dead lover.
- Only A Woman's Heart- This lovely song was written by Irish singer songwriter Eleanor McEvoy.
- Islands In The Mist - Could be described as a modern day "clearance" song, where young people have to go further afield in order to find employment or to fulfill their ambitions, only now a days they go of their own volition.
- Fear A Bhata - Is a gaelic traditional song with a beautiful melody, for which Moira wrote some new English lyrics, based on a the old translation.
- The Queen's Four Marys - Mary Beaton, May Seton, Mary Carmichael and the ill-fated Mary Hamilton, were all ladies in waiting to Mary Queen of Scots.
- For Justice and Honour - Moira wrote this song after reading the script of the recent "Rob Roy" film, in which justice and honour seemed to be the most important aspects of his personality. Some are undecided as to whether he was a hero or villain - most including Moira think he was the former.
- Long Black Veil - This is an Irish traditional song, which Moria decided to give a fresh arrangement.
- House Carpenter - I'm not sure of the origins of this traditional ballad, but it is a beautiful song.
Safely Ashore - Moira wrote this song based on the English translation of the original gaelic song, reputed to have been written by St. Columba.
- Highlanders - After reading the stories of Scottish heroes, William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, Rob Roy MacGregor, Moira decided to write a song for all the the unknown heroes who gave their lives in the attempt to have the rightful heir on the Scottish throne.
