In fall of 2002 the ferry company that serves the Shetland and Orkney Islands in Scotland will change. This will bring to an end the service provided since the beginning of steam navigation. The North of Scotland, Orkney, and Shetland Steam Navigation Company know as the North Company began operating in 1875. When it became part of the P&O group it was renames P&O Ferries. This delightful little book has 200 well-documented images of the various ships and events that was a part of this service.
If you are interested in shipping, steamboats, the Orkney or Shetland you will want to get this book. The use of so many pictures with short concise text makes this book a joy to read.
