In fall of 2002 the ferry company that serves the Shetland and Orkney Islands in Scotland will change. This will bring to an end the service provided since the beginning of steam navigation. The North of Scotland, Orkney, and Shetland Steam Navigation Company know as the North Company began operating in 1875. When it became part of the P&O group it was renames P&O Ferries.
