Quintin Jardine's newest book is in the Oz Blackstone series. Oz has been lucky enough to become involved in doing narration for a movie through his connections with the producers. Then his luck continues as he moves up to being an actor in the movie. On top of all of this he has won the lottery and got engaged to Primavera, his girl friend from past books. All and all a mighty lucky fellow he has become since the last book. So what is the mystery? Prim and Oz try to help a friend who has received some threatening letters which leads to some puzzling events including an attack on Oz.

This book just rambles along at first with a few action scenes and some interesting scenes about the movie business. The important mystery and action takes place in the last few chapters of the book. Once you get to end of the book the author has a surprise and well conceived ending which almost saves the book but not quite.

You have to hang in with reading this book until something of major interest happens so I gave it a two-thistle rating.
