No Other Woman

Bent on seducing a rival clansman, Lady Shawna MacGinnis lures seductive David Douglas from his safe-haven in his castle to the nearby stables. There, her passion sets David's soul afire and sparks fly. But after making love with him, instead of waking up wrapped in his arms, she finds herself beside the body of a charred corpse.

Devastated by the tragedy of losing the one she secretly loved, Shawna runs away from Castle Rock, the Douglas' highland stronghold, until family honor and duty bring her back. She never forgives herself for playing a part in David's ruin and carries his image in her heart.

As the night of the Moon Maiden draws near at Greyfriar Castle, romance sparks, mysteries come to light and Shawna finds that she, too, is in fear of danger. When it takes flame of a dead lover to save her, Shawna realizes that many secrets were swept away with the ashes on the night that David died and fears that the MacGinnises had a hand in it.

Shannon Drake's NO OTHER WOMAN sparked my interest from the very first chapter and continued to ignite my passion in each chapter with the fiery characters of Shawna MacGinnis and the brave and fearless selkie that caught her heart. Murder, mystery, mistaken identities and plot twists make this book a delightful read.

This book deserves a four-thistle rating because I could not put it down until the last page, when the flames of passion had consumed all, and out of the ashes of death and deception arose a happy ending.
