SCOTTISH BOOKS FOR A RAINY DAY

Off Scotland

Off Scotland Off Scotland is the most comprehensive book I have ever found on the maritime disasters along the treacherous Scottish coast. The amount of information in this book is staggering. You can find shipwrecks or plane disasters by locality as well as by name of ship and its type and size in most cases. I was fascinated with the maritime disaster around Shetland and the areas I know well. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the maritime disasters of Scotland. This book is welcome to the historical books of Scotland because of its completeness.

The only criticism I have is that there is too much information and at times I felt it was difficult to grasp. It is unquestionably a reference book. If you know the area or the shipwreck you are looking for it is unbeatable in its field but don't expect to sit down and just read it since it has no stories of the disasters. But, without doubt all the facts are there.
