folklore IIf you are interest in the customs of the Highlands of Scotland then this book of 174-page book is one of the best I have found. It covers Clan Lore, seers, second sight, witchcraft, black and white, cures, omens, Taboo, social customs, the custom of life and death and ends with the Calendar festivals including the daily round.

If you have wondered what the Brahan Seer was the book tells of his birth in Uig in the Island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and the story of how he got the stone, which enabled him to determine the furture.

This is a fascinating book so about Highland customs which has been well researched and with the material appealingly presented.

I give it four thistles.
